Brava Frequently Asked Questions

How long are treatment times with Brava™?

In a study by 20 orthodontists with an average experience of 11 years, 10 patient cases were presented. Each doctor gave their predicted treatment time of the case presented using traditional orthodontic methods such as clear aligners and metal braces. These predictions were compared to the actual length of treatment that was performed with Brava™

For each case demonstrated in the graph. This study found that treatment times were reduced up to 87% (case 10) and an average reduction of 70%. Therefore, signifying a significantly shorter treatment time using Brava™ versus traditional braces and clear aligners.

Will I feel any pain once the braces are on?

Although Brava™ uses the smallest bracket in the market today, you may feel some discomfort in the first two weeks as your mouth gets accustomed to the new system.

In most cases, only one Brava™ will be needed for the entire treatment. This means few visits to the orthodontist!

How is each tooth moved?

A complex Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is done based on the movement of each tooth. In this analysis, the arms are then chosen such that the optimal force is then given to each individual tooth to get it to its correct position.

No wires connect the teeth with this technique, unlike traditional braces, which make flossing and oral hygiene easier.

Do I have to check up with my orthodontist regularly?

The great thing about Brava™ is that you don’t have to go to your orthodontist for adjustments on a regular basis. In most cases, the only time you have to visit your orthodontist is to get the appliance off. With the rare exception of a broken bracket or wire. Moderate to mild cases will only need one appliance whereas more complex cases may need two appliances to finish the treatment.
